Bandon School District #54

Key Communicator

Join our Key Communicator Network!

What is the Key Communicator program all about?

People talk to people...And those people talk to other people.

And that is how a large portion of school news gets around, regardless of how sophisticated and well-planned a school district's communications program may be.

One problem is that this communication system is unreliable. Bits of information filter into the community along informal channels without regard to accuracy. Thus, rumors form, spread and become difficult to counteract.

How is this problem resolved in a district like ours?

The Key Communcator Network solves this problem via the creation of an ongoing two-way exchange between our schools and the people they serve. Developing one-on-one relationships is an effective means of communicating within the community.

Who can be a part of the Key Communicator Network?

Parents, community members, school district employees, and anyone else who would like to be kept informed of key issues within our district.

How does the Key Communicator Network work and how can I join?

It is easy to register. Simply call 541-347-4411 and ask to become part of our network, or send an e-mail to nancyp@bandon.k12.or.us.

Each Key Communicator will routinely be informed about education, programs, board actions, policies, and activities through e-mail messages from Superintendent Diane Buche. Key Communicators will then be asked to share this information throughout the normal course of their day and then notify the district of any questions or concerns via email or phone calls.
